MACHINE LEARNING: FIRST STEPS IN R&D

Ossystem constantly keeps track of movement of IT trends.

Although theme ‘Machine Learning’ is discussed actively in all smoking rooms of IT companies for long time, a little who know how to use this discipline on practice. That’s why conference “MACHINE LEARNING: FIRST STEPS IN R&D” in Odessa gathers a lot of solicitous. Conference was organized by the HubHubHub.com knowledge sharing platform. Our company was presented by several employees: CEO, technical leader and ReactJS/React Native developers on the conference.

Maksim Raytarovskii, CTO in Augmented Pixels, in his presentation on the topic “How to start developing in Computer Vision” shared his experience. He described in detail what this technology represents and in which of sphere are used. On personal experience he speaks about the problems facing the developers who using it in their project. And he showed research data obtained in experimental way (photo, video, 3D models and chart) which gives real result on practice.

Vadim Kuzmenko, Application Engineer / Data Scientist, Oracle, in its report presented groundworks of the company where he works, with the use “Machine Learning”. He described for which of specialists this would be easiest to master and give maximally high quality results on the project. He reviewed algorithm of work on this technology and singled out key points in using it. He also presented the implemented project which performs estimate of energy consumption in Canada, and showed empirical graphics of studies of data stream that were analyzed by the method of ‘Machine Learning’.

In general, there was very much useful information, and speakers were an interesting and with pleasure answered questions of the conference participants, who not only listened carefully, but also carefully make notes.

Full of new technical knowledge, our colleagues do not get tired to share them with the rest of the staff of OSSystem. As transmission of knowledge is the key to teamwork.
